My First IRE

What's up, everybody? Good morning. Good Morning. We made it. We're here. We're here. Tell your neighbor, we're here. Yeah! I was getting worried towards the end. Anybody else getting worried they were going to call it off? I was like, aw man! Not another virtual IRE. Come on. But you know, being here, being able to connect with one another, it's awesome. Anyone's first time being here at the IRE? Give yourselves a round of applause. That's awesome.

I think back to the first time I attended the IRE. I was actually in Arizona at the time. It was 2010. A big hailstorm hit and there I was, you know. I didn't really know what I was doing but I was venturing out into the aftermath and let's just say, it wasn't that successful. I was there meeting with my team when I first heard about the IRE.

So I'm like, dude, I got to check this out. All these roofers together at the same place, it sounds awesome. I went to the IRE that year for the first time and mind you, I was in my early twenties. I quickly discovered all of the fun stuff that happens at the IRE, especially how roofers can out-drink you-- sometimes.

But seriously, this is my 12th year in a row and I'm just so thankful that I was introduced to the IRE early on because of all of the connections I’ve made and the network that I’ve established. These are the people that have helped me along the way. I challenge you to continue on attending the IRE and events like this because it's going to expand your mind and you'll see what other people in this industry are doing. You’ll find out what works and determine if you can apply their strategies at your company. Obviously, we have a lot of new people this year and I'm excited that you all are here. Continue on!
